“I cant deny its more convenient online, it fits in with my busy life and schedule. I can put my daughter to bed and then 2 minutes later be on a zoom class and can fit it in around work. You still get all the same feedback and you get the same workout, Im still getting the exact same benefit health wise. There’s also less of an excuse to not participate.

Don’t think about NOT doing it. Honestly it just makes such a huge difference. You dont realise just how tailored all the exercises are to what you need. I think it’s also just the general community, you can work to what you need that day, thats what I didn’t like about previous gyms the pressure to go hard all the time. Here theres a lot of acceptance. There’s always different options to what you need regardless of whats going on in your body.”

“After a walk I was experiencing quite a lot of back pain and some groin pain. I found that going to even a couple of classes. That back pain improved, actually disappeared really and the groin pain improved as well.

You gave me a lot of confidence and I felt stronger so then I felt more confident to go for a walk and get back into my swimming which I love to do. It put me back into that exercise/training mindset.

A lot of opal asking me how I’m feeling, I have my moments but all in all I’m feeling really good! Im an older mum, I’m 41 so maintaining my physical health and strength is really important. Really please that I’ve been able to maintain that, I’m still pottering around!”

“I joined Active Mum when my baby was 4  months old. Being pregnant had caused a major disruption to my body. I wanted to get back into shape but didn’t know how to do it injury free. I love that I can bring my baby to class and the environment is so child friendly, and that the program is specifically made for our needs after having baby.

It helped me fix my core and the back pain from breastfeeding and carrying my baby. I really enjoy the variety in the classes. Ive got more energy, feel more toned and confident, which has helped me take better care of my baby. ”

 

Tae - Mum of 3

“1 month after the birth of my 3rd baby I suffered a severe prolapse. I was in a lot of pain and doctors said I was limited in what I could do. It affected my ability to be a mum. I couldn’t pick up my toddler, I couldn’t pick up things of the floor. I could run around with my kids. It took a huge toll on me mentally.

When my four year old asked “mummy why do you cry everyday”, I knew I had to make a change. I did rehab work with a physio and when I got the all clear to exercise I tried other gyms but no-one really understood what my issues were.

I spoke with Julie at Active Mum and she put together a plan for my training. 9 months laterI can now do pushups on my toes, I can go for a run in the mornings, Im strong, Im confident, Im happy, my family is happy. I cannot recommend Active Mum highly enough. The whole experience”

Sam’s 1:1 6 Week Intensive Journey Interview: SAM HAS NOW AVOIDED SHOULDER SURGERY!

“I was in pain 24/7. Even though I had tried so many different things it just wasn’t resolving. It was impacting me from a mental perspective as well. It stopped me living a normal existence. A week and a half into our training together, I was like oh my goodness my pain levels have reduced from an 8 or a 9 to like a 4 or a 5, which is really manageable. Then as if like a miracle my shoulder had movement again and I avoided surgery. So many practitioners told me I would never get full movement back, you are a miracle worker”.

“I joined when I was getting ready for thinking about Christmas. I was just feeling really tired and sluggish and emotional eating. I started the program & Julie helped me get the emotional eating under control in the first 3 weeks. My Body:

“My husbands been away so I couldn't do my morning walks BUT I still woke up early and did 15-50 minutes workouts every morning.

I got invited to my friends house for the kids to go for a swim and I got into my bikini and I felt really confident. Partly because I am feeling really strong but also, I think feeling like I feel proud, good about myself, it doesn’t matter what I look like, I feel good about my body. Just feeling comfortable, which is lovely!!

I am proud of my body for doing what it does, its a really nice feeling.

I am in a really strong spot at the moment.

I remember saying to you, if I build up slowly, it just happens quite quickly.

I bought some little weights and a skipping rope, which I've been using and an exercise ball. I got a few bits and pieces for home, so I have NO excuses!

Im so surprised how much I have stuck to the morning routine, im finding the exercise quite addictive - not in a bad way! It takes zero effort to be motivated about it which is lovely.”


MY MENTAL HEALTH:

“There has been a lot of change and a lot of demand on my time, I can’t really compare where I was as I have so much more on my plate BUT I don’t feel the proportion of stress I SHOULD feel considering how much I'm doing.

I feel more aware of, like a greater insight into what I am doing and knowing that it’s too much, rather than feeling lost I an see I need to ask for help - and I'm not scared to do that!!!

It’s a journey striking that balance, Im just choosing not to take on more stuff. I don’t buy into the badge of honour about being busy, I think its really important to relax and have down time and connection.

But I cannot do any of that if I don't feel physically well!

My moods are a lot more stable when I am fit and healthy.

I feel a lot more in control.

There is SO much more joy and ease!! I don't feel like a fraud.

I am more authentic.

I feel so much more comfortable expressing when I need some time out FOR ME!

And then last week when the sun came out, I don't think my feet were touching the ground I was so happy!!

I won’t say rock bottom because that means you know where you are - I was just in no mans land, I didn’t know what to do.

I really didn’t know what was wrong, what to do or where to turn and I just wanted to feel anchored. I felt so lost and thats not like me, so mow I definitely feel, yep, FOUND!!!
